My BOINC Breaks 20,000!

I thought since i haven’t updated in a while i might as well make a post about something small. I don’t know how many of you run Seti@Home or any of the other networked computing projects, but worldwide it is a significant undertaking. More than a million people are running these clients and stacking up credit (workunits) like mad. The most significant contributors are large universities and institutions running 4000+ computers on the same project in parallel. As an individual user, those are the people that are basically impossible to surpass.

HOWEVER, running four or five clients for a couple years has now raised me to position 19967 out of 1,159,761. While this might not sound like much of an accomplishment, i am proud of my contribution and would encourage all of you to join SETI or one of the other projects in working toward their worthy goals.

I included a graph of my total credit, world position, and the breakdown of my contribution.  Notice that each jump in these charts is basically another computer getting added to the cause.

ps. I also updated wordpress after month(s) of delaying. Yay.

The following is a descryption of how muslix64 first broke the AACS Decryption Scheme and aquired the first keys to decode Blu-Ray and HD-DVD movies.

Fullscreen Windowed

This was developed as a final project for Cory Doctorow’s COMM499 class at the University of Southern California. It is also the first movie I have ever put together in flash. Enjoy - feel free to comment.
